Immunization Program

The Texas Vaccine for Children (TVFC) Program offers immunization services to those children (0-18 years of age) who are uninsured, underinsured (insurance that does not cover immunizations), have CHIP, or Medicaid. The Adult Safety Net (ASN) Program provides vaccines to adults (19 years and older) who do not have health insurance.

Vaccines offered to eligible clients:

  • TVFC - Children, 0-18 years: Hepatitis B, rotavirus, diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, haemophilus influenza type B, pneumococcal conjugate, pneumococcal polysaccharide, inactivated polio, influenza (seasonal), measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A, meningococcal, and human papillomavirus.
  • ASN - Adults, 19 years and older: Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, shingles, varicella, pneumococcal, human papillomavirus, meningococcal, varicella.

Note:At times the health department may receive a limited supply of some of these vaccines, please contact us prior to your visit to determine availability.

Administrative fees:

  • Immunizations: $10.00 per vaccine with a maximum fee of $20.00 per person regardless of the number of vaccines needed
    (if you are unable to pay administrative fee, please let us know at the time of visit)

  • Immunization copy: $5.00
  • Translation of foreign records: $25.00
  • Flu vaccine for adults (19 years and older): $25.00 per person and free for those with Medicare part B
  • All other adult vaccines: $20 per vaccine with a maximum of $40 per adult regardless of the number of vaccines needed
  • Flu vaccine for children (6 months – 18 years): $10.00 per child, free to those with CHIP or Medicaid
  • ImmTrac2 Copy: $5.00
  • Translation of Foreign Immunization Records: $25 per record

  • Note: In an effort to promote the medical home, CHIP and Medicaid participants are encouraged to seek services with their attending physician.

What to bring to your visit:

  • Most recent immunization record

  • Clients, 17 years and younger, must be accompanied by one of the following adults (18 years or older):

    • Parent, grandparent, step-parent, uncle, aunt, sister or brother
    • Legal guardians must present most recent court ordered paperwork
    • Non-related adults, must present an original notarized letter signed by the parent or legal guardian
  • All clients presenting for the first time to the immunization clinic must present one of the following:

    • Original birth certificate
    • Original social security card
    • Original, non-expired driver’s license
    • Original, non-expired state ID
    • Original, non-expired passport
    • Original, non-expired military ID
    • Original, non-expired matricula consular
  • Valid, government issued photo ID must be presented at each visit by:

    • Clients who are 18 years of age and older
    • Adults accompanying clients who are 17 years of age or younger
  • The following forms of identification are accepted:

    • Original, non-expired driver’s license
    • Original, non-expired state ID
    • Original, non-expired passport
    • Original, non-expired military ID
    • Original, non-expired matricula consular

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Parents are strongly encouraged to check their children’s shot records throughout the school year. If you are uncertain if your child needs vaccination, please feel free to contact your attending physician, school nurse or local health department to determine if your child needs vaccines.

*Due to the high demand for immunization services, no appointments are given. Immunizations services are provided on a walk-in basis only. If the daily number of tickets is issued prior to closing time, no additional tickets will be issued. Clients are encouraged to arrive early to obtain a walk-in ticket. Due to quarterly meetings and holidays, hours of operation may vary.
